Jane Siberry is the self-titled 1981 debut album by Jane Siberry. The original vinyl album is out of print. The album was re-released on CD by East Side Records in 1994. Instead, it's a largely folk-pop album, which has been described by Stewart Mason as "Joni Mitchell's early-'70s albums viewed through a post-punk prism". All songs written by Siberry.

Although Jane Siberry's big hit singles were a bit too pop-oriented to truly represent her work as a whole, even those who loved her more off-kilter side would have been hard-pressed to have foreseen the direction of The Walking. For most of the tracks, Siberry dispenses with standard pop construction, instead opting more for a sometimes-surreal narrative approach. This can be a bit trying for those who value succinctness; of the eight tracks, only one clocks in at less than six minutes

Jane Siberry (born October 12, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is most famous for her early 1980s new wave hits such as 'Mimi on the Beach', 'I Muse Aloud' and 'One More Colour'. Internationally, she is best known for her 1993 album 'When I Was a Boy'. Her first self-titled album was released in 1981. Following the commercial failure of her 1995 album Maria, Siberry founded her own independent label, Sheeba Records.
