Boomania is the debut and most successful album by Betty Boo, released on 10 September 1990. King John (a duo comprising Rex Brough and John Coxon) produced most of the songs on the album; Coxon continued to collaborate with Betty Boo on her second album, GRRR! It's Betty Boo. Notes. signifies an additional producer. Hey DJ, I Can't Dance (To That Music You're Playing)" is a reworking of "I Can't Dance to That Music You're Playing" by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.
Between 1990 and 1992 she had a successful solo career, which spawned a number of chart-placing singles, most notably "Doin' the Do", "Where Are You Baby?", and "Let Me Take You There". Boo returned with a new record deal in 1992 having signed to WEA. Her follow-up album, GRRR! It's Betty Boo, suffered very disappointing sales in the UK, peaking at number 62. It did, nevertheless, spawn another UK hit single titled "Let Me Take You There", which reached number 12 in August 1992. A further single, "I'm on My Way", featured a musical quote from The Beatles' "Lady Madonna" which, unusually, was not a sample

Betty Boo made her debut when she was 19 years old on the music scene in the summer of 1989 featuring on The Beatmasters smash hit Hey DJ I Can’t Dance (To The Music You’re Playing). She spend most of 1991 writing and recording her second album Grrr, It’s Betty Boo and made a return to the chart in the Summer of 1992 with Let Me Take You There (altogether now doobie de doo, de doo ). So, Betty isn’t it about time that you started ‘doin’ the do’ again?! Where are you baby? Maybe someday in the not too distant future, she will take to the stage and answer all these questions and more.
