référencement Lord Of Lords, LP, Album, AS-9224. Listening to this album can only be described as a spiritual experience. It’s like sitting atop the highest volcano and looking down into the earth. The album is well worth asking price for that track alone. Probably not an album you’d chuck on just for something to listen to, but when has Alice Coltrane ever made an album so lightweight as to just be a chuck-on album. Album · 1972 · 4 Songs. Lord of Lords Alice Coltrane. Listen on Apple Music.

Universal Consciousness/Lord of Lords. CD - Impulse!, Verve. The former album features bassist Jimmy Garrison on four of its six tracks, and drummer Jack DeJohnette on three. Rashied Ali assists on two others; Clifford Jarvis plays with DeJohnette on "Hare Krishna" and holds down the kit himself on "Sita Ra. Coltrane plays organ and harp on both recordings, and adds her piano and percussion to the mix on Lord of Lords. Even with World Galaxy missing form this trilogy, the listener gets the picture.

Theoretically, the present album should’ve been a trio consisting of Alice, bassist Haden and drummer Riley, but in reality, this is much more a total symphonic experience, rather than a jazz-trio thing.

Alice Coltrane (née McLeod, August 27, 1937 – January 12, 2007), also known by her adopted Sanskrit name Turiyasangitananda or Turiya Alice Coltrane, was an American jazz musician and composer, and in her later years a swamini. One of the few harpists in the history of jazz, she recorded many albums as a bandleader, beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s for Impulse! and other major record labels. She was the second wife and the widow of jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane.
