Tito Puente & His Orchestra. Mamborama (LP, Album, Mono, Lam). Tico Records, Tico Records. CCD 502. Tito Puente And His Orchestra.
Unfortunately, the LP is rather tame, rivaling neither his previous Tico 10" mambo LPs nor his great RCA albums. The title track has interesting solos, and vibes are used here and there. Mambo Rumbon" is a highlight, but generally it is a cautious, consistent step, offering next to nothing of Puente's hip, "avant-garde" Latin jazz or bombastic Latin drumming.
