This Corrosion" is a song by English rock band the Sisters of Mercy, released as the lead single from their second studio album, Floodland (1987), in September 1987. The song peaked at number 6 in Ireland, number 7 in the UK, and number 17 in Germany. This Corrosion" was written by Andrew Eldritch and produced by Jim Steinman, and is one of the band's most well-known songs.

This Corrosion was released on September 18th, 1987 on the This Corrosion single, with slightly shorter lyrics for the 7" single compared to the 12" single, (see below). Initially, the song was to become the second single by The Sisterhood, but Eldritch changed these plans and kept the track for the second The Sisters of Mercy studio album Floodland. Various demo versions of the song are, however, circulating with Andrew Eldritch and/or James Ray (of The Sisterhood in that case) on vocals.
