The resulting album is called Verse, Chorus, Bridge, released in December 1998. There was a live release show December 26th at Harlings Upstairs in Kansas City. pictured: Pascolini, Easterday and Jeff Freling who joined the band for the live show). For the next several years Scott Easterday played solo shows and duo shows with Marco Pascolini, who had played guitar on Verse, Chorus, Bridge, until they decided to find a permanent rhythm section to complete a four-piece band. Rather than growing stale, the four-piece live version of Expassionates decided to call it mostly quits in September 2011, although they continue to play selected shows since then. In 2015 it was time to reintroduce the first album Verse, Chorus, Bridge after 17 years. Scott Easterday brought together a new band of Kansas City musicians from rock, country and jazz styles to rival the one that recorded the record.
Expassionates is Americana from the heartland meets the sophisticated urban culture of Kansas City. Steeped in diverse currents of rock, country and jazz, Expassionates create expressive songs that range from mysterious nocturnal ballads to playful pop artifacts.
Song structure is the arrangement of a song, and is a part of the songwriting process. It is typically sectional, which uses repeating forms in songs. Common forms include bar form, thirty-two-bar form, verse-chorus form, ternary form, strophic form, and the twelve-bar blues. Popular music songs traditionally use the same music for each verse or stanza of lyrics (as opposed to songs that are n approach used in classical music art songs).
A verse-chorus chord progression pair refers to two progressions that move seamlessly one to the other, where one has those characteristics of a good verse progression and the other acts as a good chorus one. Before giving examples of these types of pairs, keep in mind that the easiest way is to create one progression that will work in both the verse and the chorus. In other words, one progression for both sections. A chord progression formula is a powerful tool for instantaneously creating dozens of progressions, all of which you know will work!
In the verse/chorus/bridge song form, however, the bridge functions differently. It is shorter than the verse and should offer a reason why the final chorus needs to be repeated. It also differs melodically, lyrically and rhythmically from the verse and chorus. Coda is an Italian word for "tail," it is the additional lines of a song which brings it to a close.
Lesson Introduction The verse/chorus song form became the predominant form on the chart during the explosion of Rock N' Roll in the 1950's and it's stayed there ever since. In this lesson, we'll take a look at the strengths and weaknesses of the verse/chorus song form and listen to examples of some songs that were written using this form. We'll also look at one of the common variations of this form better known as the verse/chorus/bridge song form.

A post-chorus differs both musically and lyrically from the verse, the Pre-Chorus and the chorus, but nearly always appears in conjunction with the Verse. On occasion a post-chorus will also double as a lyrical and musical intro and/or outro. I’ve been diving into the genre for a bit now. I’ve gone through all the more popular metal bands (SOAD.
