Raul Santos Seixas (Portuguese pronunciation: ; 28 June 1945 – 21 August 1989) was a Brazilian rock composer, singer, songwriter and producer. He is sometimes called the "Father of Brazilian Rock" and "Maluco Beleza", the last one roughly translated as "Nice Nutcase". He was born in Salvador (Bahia), Brazil, and died of pancreatitis in São Paulo.

Raul estava interessado em trocar de gravadora depois deste álbum para trabalhar com o seu velho produtor, Marco Mazzola, que havia produzido Krig-ha, Bandolo!, Gita e Novo Aeon. Sabendo disto, Roberto Menescal, que era o dono da gravadora Phillips, resolve fazer mais um álbum de Raul, com Jay Vaquer, guitarrista e grande amigo de Raul, produzindo. Jay Vaquer realizou todo o trabalho de produção e gravação do disco, mas não conseguiu mixar o disco.

Many songs in Gita were co-written with his frequent collaborator, then-fellow mystic and future worldwide bestselling author Paulo Coelho.
