I'd like to build the world a home And furnish it with love Grow apple trees and honey bees And snow-white turtle doves. I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony I'd like to hold it in my arms And keep it company. It's the real thing What the world wants today That's the way it will stay With the real thing. It's the real thing Won't you hear what I say? What the world needs today Is the real thing. I'd like to see the world for once All standing hand in hand And hear them echo through the hills For peace throughout the land.

The kitsch enthusiast or novelty seeker will get a kick out of Ray Conniff's I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing. Conniff was known primarily for orchestral versions of contemporary songs, and his recordings during the late '60s and early '70s as the Ray Conniff Singers included many straightforward recordings of pop hits. This 1972 collection includes songs by John Lennon, Bobby Vee, Donny Osmond, Cher, Three Dog Night, Melanie, and Bread (and of course there is the Coca Cola theme song). This is a fun easy listening record.

In 1959 he started The Ray Conniff Singers (12 women and 13 men, comprising mainly the Ron Hicklin Singers with augmentation by others) and released the album It's the Talk of the Town. This group brought him the biggest hit he ever had in his career: Somewhere My Love (1966). The lyrics of the album's title selection were written to the music of "Lara's Theme" from the film Doctor Zhivago, and the result was a top 10 single in the US. The album reached the US top 20 and went platinum, and Conniff won a Grammy. I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (1971) Hot 200. Love Theme from "The Godfather" (1972) Hot 200. Alone Again (Naturally) (1972) Hot 200.

Back in the 60's the Ray Conniff group have a great set of singers but when Ron Hicklin joined the group in the early 70's, he took them to a higher level. The proof is very evident in this album. Kaemfert,Pourcel số một, cũng như The Secret Gardens.

The Ray Conniff Singers were an USA group made famous during the 60s by Joseph Raymond Conniff (November 6, 1916 – October 12, 2002) an American bandleader and arranger. They were active from 1962 until 1971. I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony). Set track as current obsession.
