Mark Winkler (born 29 January 1966) is a South African writer of literary fiction living in Cape Town. He is the author of two novels, An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Absolutely Everything (2013) and Wasted (2015). His third novel, The Safest Place You Know, is due to be published in September 2016. Winkler was born in Johannesburg in 1966. He grew up in what is now Mpumalanga and attended high school at St. Alban's College, Pretoria.
