Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here? album flac

Does It Look Like I'm Here? is a 2010 album from the band Emeralds. It contains a mix of tracks previously released as 7-inch singles and new material. Pitchfork placed it at number 36 on its list "The Top 50 Albums of 2010". Does It Look Like I'm Here? contains the same new age, krautrock and kosmische styles that were a part of their previous albums. However, in the words of journalist Derek Miller, it is much more "sharp", concise and pop music-influenced than their previous works.

Any given album feels like a snapshot of the band in time. But Does It Look Like I'm Here? is the first Emeralds record you might be able to call "pretty. Listeners accustomed to the multi-vectored force of last year's What Happened, with its crush of competing swells, might initially be taken aback by the linear progressions here. Emeralds also finally seem to be playing actual notes, not just dialing in frequencies. The songs are shorter- aside from one seven-minute jam and a 12-minute blur, everything is around three or four minutes long

There are all kinds of familiar elements at work on Emeralds' third album, and those elements will be especially familiar to anyone who was listening to avant pop electronic music in the 1970s. To say that Emeralds take these elements and make them new would be an exaggeration, but to say that they make them their own would not be.
