Exclusively for Prime members. The Rip Chords were originally Phil Stewart and Ernie Bringas, but by the time this album was recorded, producers Bruce Johnston and Terry Melcher had pushed them aside and sang most of the Rip Chords songs themselves. Phil Stewart was allowed to sing lead on two songs on this album. Regardless of all that, this is a fun album that features the early-'60s California sound. Bruce & Terry didn't write too many original songs for the album, relying mostly on covers of Fantastic Baggys and Jan & Dean songs.

Contrary to popular belief, the Rip Chords were actually a real group, a duo featuring Ernie Bringas and Phil Stewart, overdubbed into a bigger group sound by producer Terry Melcher and his partner, Bruce Johnston. After two failed singles, Melcher and Johnston took over the lead singing reins (and most of the backups as well) and the "group" suddenly had its first hit with "Hey Little Cobra. When original member Bringas left to study the ministry, Stewart brought in two new members - Rich Rotkin and Arnie Marcus - who became the official touring Rip Chords. Not Hey Little Cobra no. But HLC and 3 Window Coupe is nothing but Surf City Listen 3 WC on the Deadmans Curve album.
