Played on period instruments - a 1736 Stradivarius violin and an 1830 Graf fortepiano - this recording fails to capture the beauty or sound quality of either of these exquisite instruments. The performances given by the two musicians is certainly adequate, but nothing truly special or unique and clearly not strong enough to overcome the sound quality issues.
