The Beatles' Long Tall Sally is The Beatles' final album to be released exclusively in Canada.
Long Tall Sally Lyrics. I'm going to tell Aunt Mary about Uncle John He says he had to miss it but he got a lot of fun Oh baby Yeeeeh baby Woooooh baby Having me some fun tonight. I saw Uncle John with long tall Sally He saw Aunt Mary coming and he ducked back in the alley Oh baby Yeeeeh baby Woooooh baby Having me some fun tonight. Well long tall Sally built pretty sweet She got everything that Uncle John needs Oh baby Yeeeeh baby Woooooh baby Some fun tonight
Long Tall Sally was taped in the midst of the sessions for the A Hard Day's Night album. It is possible that the song was considered for inclusion in the film, possibly during the live finale, but was deemed to be surplus to requirements. In the UK it was first released as the lead song on the Long Tall Sally EP. The US heard it two months earlier, on The Beatles' Second Album. The Beatles included Long Tall Sally during Around The Beatles, a TV show for the ITV network filmed on 19 April 1964
Long Tall Sally (оригинал The Beatles). Тощая Салли (перевод Rust из Москва). Well, long tall Sally has a lot on the ball. У этой щепки Салли на месте голова, And nobody cares if she's long and tall. Никто теперь не скажет, что длинна и худа.
The Beatles also covered Little Richard's "Lucille" at early concerts. A version can be found on the Live At The BBC album. Larry Williams makes a reference to "Long Tall Sally" in his opening lyrics to the song "Short Fat Fannie. The first verse in the song starts out with the lyrics, "I was slippin' and slidin' with a long tall Sally; Peekin' and a hidin',duck back in the alley.
Long Tall Sally by the Beatles was their fifth official EP release, and the first British EP that included songs not previously released on an album or single in the United Kingdom (two of the tracks had seen an American release earlier in the year on The Beatles' Second Album, with the other two released on the North American album Something New). The EP was reissued in 1992 as part of a 15-disc Compact Disc EP Collection, with the songs in their original Monophonic sound.
