Real Name: Jean-Joseph Mouret. Also in 1714 Mouret received an appointment as the director of the orchestra of the Opéra, a post which he held until 1718. From 1717 to 1737 he directed the Nouveau Théâtre Italien du Palais-Royal for which he composed divertissements that accompanied, for example, the tender comedies of Marivaux, and which, printed, fill six volumes. At court Mouret maintained a post as singer, and directed the grand divertissements offered by the Regent, the duc d'Orléans at his château of Villers-Cotterêts on the occasion of Louis XV's coming-of-age, 1722
Jean-Baptiste Lully (UK: /ˈlʊli/, US: /luːˈliː/; French: ; born Giovanni Battista Lulli, Italian: ; 28 November 1632– 22 March 1687) was an Italian-born French composer, instrumentalist, and dancer who spent most of his life working in the court of Louis XIV of France. He is considered a master of the French Baroque style. Lully disavowed any Italian influence in French music of the period. He became a French subject in 1661.

Jean-Joseph Mouret (1682-1738), one of the leading composers of dramatic baroque works, perhaps best known today due to the popularity of the Fanfare-Rondeau from his first Suite de symphonies, which has been adopted as the signature tune of the PBS program Masterpiece Theatre. It is also a popular musical choice in many modern weddings and graduations (see for example track 1 of the album Classics of the Silver Screen). Third selection on the disc is Corrette's La Choisy for horns and orchestra, more restrained than the earlier selections by Morin and Mouret. I purchased this disc after hearing of the death of Paillard and then looking into recordings that he had made over the course of his career.
