Suede; Night Thoughts (Suede Ltd). CD, DL /Vinyl . Out now. The latest and arguably greatest Suede album; a Modern Gothic Romance says Ged Babey, who takes the piss nonetheless. 2013’s Bloodsports, their sixth album, was in my opinion, the absolute best Suede have ever been. It was monumentally good. Every song was Perfection. Suede in my personal opinion, were overshadowed initially by the Manic Street Preachers. A completely different proposition again maybe, but the one which commanded all of my attention and devotion leaving no room for Brett and co. I also found Bernard Butler an annoying, over-rated character and musician. In a reverse Rolling Stones, Brian Jones scenario Suede just got better and better after he left. Coming Up and Head Music topped the eponymous debut and much over-rated Dog Man Star in my book.

Suede is the debut album by English alternative rock band Suede, released in March 1993 on Nude Records. It was recorded in London at Master Rock studios late 1992 and early 1993 and was produced by Ed Buller. At the time the fastest-selling debut album in British history in almost a decade, Suede debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart, won the 1993 Mercury Music Prize, and is often cited as one of the first Britpop records.

Sound - 8 Suede is an interesting band as they have changed their style over time. However this is them back in their earlier more Smith's inspired days with Bernard Buttler on guitar. Musically it's on a high. Overall Impression - 8 In the early nineties britain was overrun with grunge and british bands had a hard time breaking through. Suede were one of the few big hitters like the manic street preachers. However whereas generation terrorists is boring after the 1st half, Suede manage to vary their sound a bit more. It is camp and thouhtful all the same and also (quite importantly) amzingly catchy. So Young', 'Animal Nitrate', 'The Drowners' Animal Lover' are all gems on the album.
