Bless the Weather Lyrics. Time after time, I held it Just to watch it die Line after line, I loved it Just to watch it cry. Bless the weather that brought you to me Curse the storm that takes you away Bless the weather that brought you to me Curse the storm that takes you home. Wave after wave, I watched it Just to watch it turn Day after day, I cooled it Just to watch it burn. Bless the weather that brought you to me Curse the storm that takes you home Bless the weather that brought you to me Curse the storm that takes you away . Bless the Weather John Martyn. 2. While it's clear that Martyn has not reached his top form yet, Bless The Weather is the album where he breaks loose. If the following brilliant Solid air album exists, it's clearly that it took things where Glyndenbourne, Weather and Walk On Water left things at on this album. Certainly in the top 7 of most of John Martyn's aficionados, Bless The Weather is John first essential album.

Bless the Weather is a 1971 album by John Martyn and marks his return as a solo artist having released two albums with his wife Beverley Martyn. The album is predominantly acoustic, although it does feature Martyn's first real 'echoplex' track in "Glistening Glyndebourne".
John Martyn's 1971 album "Bless the Weather" made me a life-long fan. His previous recording with wife Beverley, Stormbringer!, brought him to my attention. John Martyn's "Bless The Weather" has long been considered a breakthrough in folk, jazz rock, punctuated by honest lyrics, Martyn's flawless sense of improvisational guitar playing with the addition of legendary Danny Thomas' bass playing. This album also hints at the beginnings of Martyn exploring new guitar techniques unheard of by a folk singer/songwriter on "Glistening Glyndebourne," through the use of a delay unit called an "Echchoplex. On this digital remastered, not only do the original songs speak for themselves.
John Martyn's "Bless The Weather" has long been considered a breakthrough in folk, jazz rock, punctuated by honest lyrics, Martyn's flawless sense of improvisational guitar playing with the addition of legendary Danny Thomas' bass playing. A band rendition featuring the late Paul Kossoff on guitar. Having seen John Martyn back in the day (Solid Air tour), this album captures his brilliance and is a great introduction to a fine body of work.
