What I especially love about this album is the unique quartet format that also foreshadows the trio's change from piano-guitar-bass to piano-bass-drums when the great Ed Thigpen replaces Herb Ellis' guitar with drums less than two years later. In fact, that one featured the same Trio as this one, with Anita's Drummer John Poole instead of Stan Levey

Notes
Compilation of LPs released by VerveTtracks 1 to 12 were recorded with an orchestra, vocal group and strings on March 28 & July 31, 1957, issued on the LP Soft Sands. Tracks 13 to 19 were recorded on November 20 & 21, 1958 and issued on the LP My Fair Lady.
Track 20 was reorded live at the Playboy Jazz Festival on August 8, 1959.
