1977 studio album by Kraftwerk. Trans-Europe Express. Whereas Radio-Activity had featured a mixture of German and English lyrics throughout the album, Trans-Europe Express went further and was mixed as two entirely separate versions, one sung in English, the other in German. At the recommendation of Maxime Schmitt, a French version of the song "Showroom Dummies", titled "Les Mannequins", was also recorded. Trans-Europe Express just seemed to express an optimism – even if people see it as machine music". Morris also said: "It reminds me of Cabaret, the film, with all of the 1920s singing. When you get that marriage between humans and machines, and you get it right, it's fantastic.
The Man-Machine (German: Die Mensch-Maschine) is the seventh studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk. A further refinement of their mechanical style, the album saw the group incorporate more danceable rhythms and less minimalistic arrangements. It includes the singles "The Model" and "The Robots".
The Man Machine, Radio-Activity (Cass, Comp, Unofficial).
The cover, produced in black, white and red, was inspired by Russian artist El Lissitzky and the Suprematism movement. On the Radio-Activity tour in 1976 Kraftwerk tested out an experimental drum cage allowing Flür to trigger electronic percussion through arm and hand movements. Unfortunately, the device did not work as planned, and it was quickly abandoned.
