The Man-Machine (German: Die Mensch-Maschine) is the seventh studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk. A further refinement of their mechanical style, the album saw the group incorporate more danceable rhythms and less minimalistic arrangements. It includes the singles "The Model" and "The Robots".

Kraftwerk is the debut studio album by German electronic band Kraftwerk. It was released in Germany in 1970, and produced by Konrad "Conny" Plank. Chief Kraftwerk members Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider used two drummers during the recording of the album; Andreas Hohmann and Klaus Dinger. Their playing provides the music with a rock edge

Plus, there's "The Model," a character sketch that falls under the latter category but takes a more cynical view of the title character's glamorous lifestyle.

Released May 19, 1978. The Man-Machine Tracklist. 1. The Robots Lyrics. Though Kraftwerk’s exploration of the interplay between man and technology was recorded in 1978, The Man-Machine remains both futuristic and timeless. Opening with The Robots, Man-Machine takes a brief trip to the Spacelab, before returning to earth, the modern Metropolis, and its inhabitants. Closing with the title track, Kraftwerk leave us to wonder whether technology has perhaps left us all part machine. Artwork from the 2009 remaster. Metropolis is a reference to the 1927 Fritz Lang silent film of the same name, as is the title Man-Machine.

Somewhere in Europe is a Reissue from "Machine". Unfortunately it's inferior in Soundquality compared to Machine. Lots of hissing on this one (Clear Pressing). Better stick to the original as it sounds superior.

Somewhere in Europe is a great LP. Side A contains a soundboard radio recording from the 1981 concert in utrecht, which has got the best soundquality (9/10) of all available 1981 recordings. The performance is really great, especially Metropolis and Pocket Calculator, which is unfortunately incomplete. Side B contains a radio recording from the 1976 concert in Paris, which has got quiet a good soundquality (7/10). It is very interesting to listen how Kraftwerk performed their songs live in theese early days. But Side A is better and more polished (although the concert was not in Poland) than Side B. All in all this is a very recommendable LP. Everything has really played live in these days, which was better than today's live shows, were the music comes from the laptops.

This bootleg is surely one of the most interesting live records of Kraftwerk I know. Not only because of its good recording quality, but also because of the combination of concerts choosen. As mentioned, Side 1 is recorded in Utrecht, Netherlands 1981, with tracks from "Computerwelt" and "Mensch Maschine". Side 2 is live in Paris 1976, presented by a radio broadcast, with a french commentator (with obvious problems categorizing what he`s presenting) introducing the band and their music. This side offers music from "Ralf und Florian" and "Autobahn". Especially these recordings are wonderful. They are filigree and intense pieces in the way they are played and added with improvisations. Its breathtaking.
