Alright, Still is the debut studio album by English singer Lily Allen. It was released on 13 July 2006 by Regal Recordings. After being rejected by several record labels, Allen signed to London Records, who eventually lost interest in her, leading her to meet production duo Future Cut and sign to Regal Recordings.
Like most British pop, Lily Allen's debut album, Alright, Still, overflows with impeccably shiny, creative productions.
Shame for You" is a song by British recording artist Lily Allen from her debut studio album, Alright, Still. Written by Allen and Blair MacKichan, while sampling Jackie Mittoo's "Loving You" melody, the song was released as the A-Side to her fourth single, "Alfie", exclusively in the United Kingdom on 5 March 2007, by Regal Recordings. While no music video had been shot for the song, it was performed live in Allen's 2007 concert tour.
The only wing still standing? Publicity. For all its ubiquity, MySpace had yet to yield a definitive zero-to-hero prior to Allen, but with "Smile" landing at the spot on the UK singles chart a few weeks back, that's neither here nor there anymore. None of which would mean much if Alright, Still wasn't fantastic. Fortunately, it's the kind of debut for which the cliché "great summer album" is happily perpetuated. Clocking in at just over 37 minutes and boasting no fewer than seven potential singles, it's an album made at the intersection of whipsmart British pop like Saint Etienne, the Specials and-– inevitably, given that both write colloquially about things like waiting in club queues and getting stoned–- the Streets.

On Alright Still, I saw that on "Alfie" in particular (slackers). Friday Night", "Knock & Out", and "Not Big" come to mind here. The big hit "Smile" is another prime entry in this category.
