Garth Hewitt - Gospel Singer. Kicking off with a rendition of a traditional spiritual Guide My Feet, with interjections from a wailing harmonica (blown by the man himself) and a peddle steel, it quickly becomes apparent that Garth is staying close to the folk blues and country influences which have given his music longevity, now that dreams of breaking into popdom have long disappeared. This album builds around the message of the Gospel and reflects on its implications to our world today.

Troyal Garth Brooks (born February 7, 1962) is an American singer and songwriter. His integration of rock and roll elements into the country genre has earned him immense popularity in the United States. Brooks has had great success on the country single and album charts, with multi-platinum recordings and record-breaking live performances, while also crossing over into the mainstream pop arena.
The influence of gospel music stretches far and wide, and the best gospel singers, too, cover a wider range of styles, as this list of the Top 15 shows. The beauty and spirituality of this blind singer inspired countless musicians, including Bob Dylan and Ry Cooder. Dylan recorded several of his songs, including ‘Jesus Met The Woman At The Well’. Thomas A Dorsey (1899-1993). Aretha Franklin was just 14 when she recorded the 1956 album Songs Of Faith at the New Bethel Baptist Church, where her father was the reverend. Before crossing over into the world of mainstream entertainment, Franklin was a talented gospel singer (in the same way as Amy Grant, for example) and her voice was able to cope with the demands of the high and powerful notes needed to become one of the best gospel gospel singers on record.
