Chicago Beau is committed to the literary side of Blues culture. In 1988 he founded Literati Internazionale, a publishing company dedicated to multi-culturalism. To date his company has published fifteen journals, books, and magazines that include the works of over 100 writers and artists. As a writer, Chicago Beau has written numerous articles and published three books:Great Black Music-The Art Ensemble of Chicago; Blues Stories; and recently;BluesSpeak, The Best of The Original Chicago Blues Annual, published by University of Illinois Press. Beau recently completed Book One of his Autobiography: TOO MUCH UNCONVENIENCE - Reflections of a Blues Gypsy.

Mississippi Heat is an American blues band based in Chicago, led by harmonica player Pierre Lacocque. Formed in 1991, the band has toured in the United States, Canada, and Europe, with occasional performances in South America and North Africa. Mississippi Heat has recorded 12 albums: four on Van der Linden Records, the band's own label (1992–1998), three on the European label CrossCut Records (1998–2005) and six with Chicago label Delmark Records since 2005. The band also released a live DVD in 2005. Among them: Pulitzer Prize Poet Gwendolyn Brooks, Alejo Carpentier, Kalamu Ya Salaam,Eugene B.
