Adcock (born Charles Clinton Adcock, c. 1971, Lafayette, Louisiana) is a rock and roll musician from noted for his cajun, zydeco, electric blues and swamp pop-influenced sound, and for his efforts to preserve and promote swamp pop music.

Adcock hunches over his Telecaster like a tiger ready to pounce. He stands on one foot, the other leg twisting like an unmanned fire hose – one leg wrapping and unwrapping around the other uncontrollably, while he precariously keeps his balance. He stands on tiptoes and backpedals as if it will help him reach a bend on his B string. Prior to working with Adcock, Jack Nitzsche’s most recent rock album was Graham Parker’s Squeezing Out Sparks, in 1979. I knew Jack’s name from the Stones and Phil Spector stuff, Adcock admits. But I had no idea how heavy this cat was and how deep it was going to get – that there were people on this planet who took rock and roll to that level. It was good to see that first-hand – that rock and roll is a cool art form and not just greasy kid’s stuff.

Adcock is the debut album by the Louisianan swamp-rock musician of the same name, released in 1994 on Island Records. Complicated Game is the ninth studio album by American folk rock musician James McMurtry, released on 24 February 2015 by Complicated Game Records.

Adcock was born Charles Clinton Adcock in the early 1970s and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. In addition to the pop and rock sounds coming in from other parts of the country, he was exposed from an early age to the blues and to a regional music-Cajun, Creole, Zydeco, and a newer strain called "swamp-rock"-that still thrived in Southern Louisiana. Upon the death of Denny Cordell, Island Records let Adcock go without recording a follow-up album. His second chance came with veteran composer and producer Jack Nitzsche, who reportedly heard Adcock's album at a party and decided they had to work together. The two musicians became friends and traveled to Mexico, where they recorded some new songs. Nitzsche died in 2000, but not without leaving his mark on the younger musician.
