UFO 1 is the debut album by British rock band UFO. It was first released in the UK by Beacon Records in October 1970. The first US release was on Rare Earth Records in April 1971. Neither of these releases charted; however, the album did become a success in Germany and Japan. The album was reissued under the name Unidentified Flying Object with 4 of the 5 tracks from the band's second album. This reissue incorrectly shows a photo of the band from the 1980s on the cover.

I first saw UFO way back in 1978 and have been with them through thick, thin, drama, highs and (occasional) lows ever since. How many times have I seen them in concert over those four decades – too many to remember. My thanks to Mr Mogg and cohorts for so much listening and watching pleasure. This 32 track CD covers three UFO songs, Doctor Doctor, Lights Out and Rock Bottom Note Phil Mogg doesn't appear on the album.

Band name appears just on labels. Front, rear and spine denotes just the title. On the labels the title is "U.F.O. 1".
