Muddy Water (Live) Lyrics. Eddi Reader - Muddy Water (Live) Lyrics. Album: Live in Japan. Heyo! SONGLYRICS just got interactive. Did not do what I should I nearly lost it good But the CCTV camera never caught us All that time in the muddy water. Who said anything about love We're animals after all And everything we feel can be explained Who said anything about time It's not yours and it's not mine Just different ways of getting through the day. Don't know what I'm gonna do Everything is broken in two I miss my man, my son and my daughter. I can see them now in the muddy water. Gonna leave you here in the muddy water. Born in Glasgow on August 29, 1959, Eddi Reader first appeared on the music scene as backing singer for early 80s angular punk outfit The Gang Of Four, appearing with them on the Old Grey Whistle Test and their UK tour. This was followed by session work with such names as Eurythmics, The Waterboys and Alison Moyet before, in 1984, signing to EMI and releasing two singles as part of disco act Outbar Squeek. It’s fast forward then to 2007 and Peacetime, an album that featured stronger folk colours, from whence comes the Boo Hewardine-penned Muddy Water and Leezie Lindsay, an adaptation of a song by the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Eddi Reader is the second studio album by Eddi Reader released in the United Kingdom on 20 June 1994. The album was recorded in America with producer Greg Penny (. lang’s producer on Ingenue), and was the first to feature songs written and co-written with future regular cohort Boo Hewerdine. It also featured four songs written by ex Fairground Attraction member Mark Nevin
The brand new album from Eddi Reader Peacetime is a must have for any music loving people out there. The last album of Robbie Burns material gave us a taster of things to come and Eddi has teamed up with John McCusker and Boo Hewerdine among others to bring us this great album. The album has a simple approach - highlighting Eddi's distinctive voice and great musicians. My favourites have to be Muddy Water, Aye Waukin-O, Prisons, The Shepherd's Song and Should I Pray. The songs will no doubt come into their own when done live by Eddi and the band - this i cannot recommend enough.
