Classics is the fifth studio album by She & Him, a collaboration between M. Ward and actress Zooey Deschanel. It was released by Columbia Records on December 2, 2014. The album features 13 covers of classic songs, recorded live and accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra. Classics was released for a First Listen on NPR on November 23, 2014

She & Him is an American musical duo consisting of Zooey Deschanel (vocals, piano, ukulele) and M. Ward (guitar, production). The band's first album, Volume One, was released on Merge Records in March 2008. The duo is augmented by session musicians Scott McPherson (drums), Paul Brainard (pedal steel guitar) and Mike Coykendall (bass, guitar). Deschanel and Ward met on the set of the film The Go-Getter, in which Deschanel had a starring role.

Back in 2011, an album called A Very She & Him Christmas joined the eternal glut of holiday music. As might be expected, it featured a string of agreeably executed staples - "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," "Silver Bells," et al - played with timeless impeccability by the duo of Zooey Deschanel and M. That song, and renditions of The Righteous Brothers’ ‘Unchained Melody’ and the Burt Bacharach and Hal David-penned ‘This Girl’s In Love With You’ are stunning in isolation.
