Laid Back is the debut studio solo album by American singer-songwriter Gregg Allman, released in October 1973 by Capricorn Records. Allman, best known as the anist of the Allman Brothers Band, first began considering a solo career after internal disagreements with that group. He developed the album as a small creative outlet wherein he would assume full control, and he co-produced the album alongside Johnny Sandlin.

For the Gregg Allman album, see Laid Back (album). Laid Back is a Danish electronic music duo group from Copenhagen, formed in 1979. The duo consists of John Guldberg (vocals, guitar, bass) and Tim Stahl (vocals, keyboards, drums, bass). They are best known for the hits "Sunshine Reggae" and "White Horse" from 1983 and "Bakerman" from 1989.

Recorded in the same year as the Brothers and Sisters album, this solo debut release is a beautiful amalgam of R&B, folk, and gospel sounds, with the best singing on any of Gregg Allman's solo releases. He covers his own "Midnight Rider" in a more mournful, dirge-like manner, and Jackson Browne's "These Days" gets its most touching and tragic-sounding rendition as well.

Vocals, Organ, Acoustic Guitar – Gregg Allman. Written-By – Gregg Allman (tracks: 1-3, 6). Notes. Special Thanks To Ed Freeman; Robb Wilson; Phil Walden, Berry Oakley; Deering Howe; Macon, GA; And Mama "A". This album dedicated with love to Janice B. Allman. Originally released in 1973.

Gregg Allman's debut album, Laid Back, is a stunner. Just don't go in thinking you're going to hear the long and awesome jams of the Allman Brothers Band. This is a look into Gregg's soulful side. The musicianship throughout is top notch, more steeped in rhythm and blues with plenty of horns and strings and of course, Gregg's organ playing. It took courage and it took fortitude for Gregg to stay the course. I'm sure he knew in his heart it was what Duane would have expected of him. Till this day, when I listen to Laid Back, I can't help but see his face before me on that long ago Thanksgiving night. Hurt beyond belief, but determined to go on and go on he did. Keep on keeping on Brother and thanks for all the great music and wonderful memories along the way.

Laid Back is Gregg Allman’s debut studio solo album, released in October 1973 by Capricorn Records. Laid Back was largely recorded in March 1973 at Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon, Georgia, with additional recording taking place at the Record Plant in New York City. The album explores Allman’s varying influences, including rhythm and blues and soul music
