Volume 1 is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band CKY. Recorded at The Ground Hog Studios in Holland, Pennsylvania, it was produced, engineered and mixed by guitarist Chad I Ginsburg, and originally released on February 27, 1999 by Distant Recordings and Teil Martin International. Since its initial release under the title Camp Kill Yourself, the album has been reissued a number of times by various record labels with different titles and album covers.

The New Sounds is the debut studio album by Miles Davis, released as a 1951 10-inch LP. It is his first album as leader and his first album for Prestige Records. Davis contributed three tracks to the various artists LP Modern Jazz Trumpets and performed as a sideman for Lee Konitz's on The New Sounds. Prestige would be Davis' label for the next five years, with occasional recordings for Blue Note and Debut, until he signed with Columbia in 1955.

On the down side, there are the almost obligatory R&B tracks along with a few semi-commercial tracks that I could do without. The Busta sounding style of Rigamortis comes off with a nice head nodding, yet commercially funky beat courtesy of Homegrown. It’s a similar flow, but it’s his own. And, the winner on this album is definitely Wisdom who contributes two of the best tracks. The rhymes and flows are nice, and I can even have a good. Various Artists Parallel Minds Vol. 1.

This six-track sampler shows that when it comes to A&Ring, the Dublin operation isn’t short on ideas either. The unheralded Bastiengoat and Cambo stand out with swung rhythms, snares that crash and swerve through the arrangements alongside screeching sirens on the former’s Boytek and moody synths on the latter’s Phantom Liquidity.
