Monoliths are three friends who came together in Nottingham through a love of raw and heavy metal. This is the beginning of a very heavy journey.

Monolith is a studio album by American hip hop producer Omid. It was released by Mush Records on September 16, 2003. Thomas Quinlan of Exclaim! wrote: "Although none of the songs on this album are bad, the rigid pattern of instrumental track then vocal track and back again becomes monotonous and breaks up the flow of the two separate entities, especially since the length of the instrumentals prevent them from being simply interludes

Monoliths is the musical solo project of Tim Yates.

Monoliths & Dimensions takes the idea even further, gathering collaborators- from Csihar and Earth's Dylan Carlson to Australian drone master Oren Ambarchi and vocalist Jessika Kenney, who sang so well on Wolves in the Throne Room's Two Hunters- for four tracks that push Sunn O))) in directions unforeseen: Riffs come wrapped in strings. And there's the album's other giant, opener "Aghartha". As close as Monoliths gets to the classic drone of Sunn O)))'s past, O'Malley and Anderson paw at chords on perfectly engineered electric bass and guitar.

Monoliths & Dimensions - Excellent, Based on 11 Critics. Monoliths & Dimensions has many guest collaborators, including Oren Ambarchi, Dylan Carlson (Earth) and former Sun Ra’s Arkestra member Julius Priester.

Monoliths and Dimensions succeeds because it is the sound of a new music formed from the ashen forge of drone, rock, and black metal. In its seemingly impenetrable, slow, spacious, heavy sonic darkness, this is the new way forward for not only Sunn 0))), but for extreme rock music and possibly even what's left of the avant-garde.
