Andy continued an intermittent solo recording career, whilst starting to work with Status Quo in 1973, first as a session musician, and then as a full time member, recording "Rockin' All Over The World" with the band in 1977.

Andy Bown (born 27 March 1946, The City, London, England, UK) is an English musician, who has specialized in keyboards and bass guitar. He is currently a member of the rock band Status Quo. Bown's first major band was The Herd, along with Peter Frampton. After The Herd dissolved he spend two years with Judas Jump who were the opening act of the Isle Of Wight Festival 1970. He played for Frampton in the 1970s then switching to bass briefly when Rick Wills departed the Peter Frampton band in early 1975  . Gone To My Head (Album).

After their second album Spare Parts failed commercially, the band abandoned psychedelia and Carnaby Street fashions in favour of a hard rock/boogie sound, faded denims and T-shirts, an image which was to become their trademark throughout the 1970s. After two relatively poor-selling albums, Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon and Dog of Two Head in 1970 and 1971, their major breakthrough came when they signed with the heavy rock and progressive label Vertigo. Their first album for Vertigo, Piledriver, was released in 1972 and heralded an even heavier, self-produced sound. In mid-1985, Rossi, Parfitt and Bown, with Edwards and Rich, started work on a new Quo album.

Unfinished Business is an album by Andy Bown, currently the keyboard player in Status Quo and a former member of Judas Jump and The Herd. The album was Bown's first solo album since joining Status Quo in 1976, and was released by Cherry Red Records in September 2011. The track listing for the album was: "Ruby And Roy". The most obvious difference is that the album version does not feature the high-pitched backing vocals by bassist Charles Cave during the final chorus.
