The Invisible Way by Low, released 19 March 2013 1. Plastic Cup 2. Amethyst 3. So Blue 4. Holy Ghost 5. Waiting 6. Clarence White 7. Four Score 8. Just Make It Stop 9. Mother 10. On My Own 11. To Our Knees We here at Sub Pop are honored to have our name attached to The Invisible Way, Low’s tenth album in 20 years as a band. Rather than put together our own, e description of the album, we will let Low’s Alan Sparhawk do the talking: While driving though Chicago, on tour, we stopped finally to visit Wilco at their studio, The Loft

Parker and Sparhawk sound like true equals on The Invisible Way, as their songwriting, singing, and playing complement each other vividly. Still, he gets saddled with two of the weakest tracks here, which is especially disappointing coming so soon after his excellent Retribution Gospel Choir album, 3. With its prominent, yet distracting proper nouns, Clarence White sounds like it should allude to something specific, yet the only thing truly harrowing about it is the steady, unsettling drum tattoo.

Album · 2013 · 11 Songs. The decision to record The Invisible Way at Jeff Tweedy's Chicago studio helped ensnare Tweedy for the producer role and make this album the most singer/songwriter–like album of Low's slo-core career. Mimi Parker handles five lead vocals (previously unheard of), with "Waiting" giving longtime fans an idea of what Americana ballads would sound like done the Low way. Of course, the Low way in 2013 is but a distant non-echo of the band's heavily reverbed past, where the beauty was in the mystic tones that sounded as if they were bouncing off of a cathedral's walls

The Invisible Way ‎(LP, Album). The best Low album in YEARS and on par with Things We Lost In The Fire, Curtain Hits The Cast, and Long Division, matching the stark beauty of those releases, but featuring an overall happier mood on some tracks. On My Own" in particular is probably the cheeriest song they've done, and is the highest of highlights on here.

Band Name Low. Album Name The Invisible Way. Type Album.

The Invisible Way finds the trio 20 years into its craft and returning to parts of its roots while at the same time branching into new sounds. The most noticeable shifts in the band's sound come with the production of Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, working with the band for the first time here. While much of Low's work clung to a formula of reverb and echo that their earliest records took to extremes, the 11 songs here are roomy but not obscured by cavernous sounds

Low’s 10th album begins with the familiar low beat of drums and strident harmonies of Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker. But this one is a little different, perhaps because it’s produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, who places Parker’s vocal, and the piano, more centrally. The slow, dancing melody of Amethyst complements the choral beauty of Holy Ghost, and the jangling piano of So Blue is a joy that partly frames Just Make It Stop.
