Redirected from Debut (Bjork album)). Debut is considered the debut studio album by Icelandic recording artist Björk as an international singer, released in July 1993 by One Little Indian and Elektra Records. It was produced by Björk and Nellee Hooper. It was Björk's first recording following the dissolution of her previous band, the Sugarcubes.
Björk is the only studio album by Icelandic singer Björk Guðmundsdóttir as a child singer, released on 18 December 1977 by Fálkinn. In 1976, Björk appeared on Icelandic radio singing "I Love to Love" through the music school she attended, which led her to a record deal and the release, with the help of stepfather Sævar, of her first solo album in 1977.
Debut is the first international solo studio album by Icelandic recording artist Björk. The album was released in July 1993 on One Little Indian and Elektra Records, and was produced by Björk in collaboration with artist Nellee Hooper. For the most part, the lyrics of Debut are concerned with love. The love themes range from "flesh-and-blood passion" for another person to the love of life itself. According to i-D, with a couple of exceptions, the songs of Debut fell into two types: "those where Björk addressed the listener as someone in pain and told them fireworks.

Freed from the Sugarcubes' confines, Björk takes her voice and creativity to new heights on Debut, her first work after the group's breakup. With producer Nellee Hooper's help, she moves in an elegantly playful, dance-inspired direction, crafting highly individual, emotional electronic pop songs like the shivery, idealistic "One Day" and the bittersweet "Violently Happy. Despite the album's swift stylistic shifts, each of Debut's tracks are distinctively Björk.
Declare Independence. The Best Mixes from the Album - Debut.
Björk performing Debut. Her first album released back in 1993. At that time I was a teenager, but Björk opened my ears to a different type of music. This is such an amazing album because the musical style of this icelandic singer is so eclectic. Every song is completely different, and it's all good stuff. With each song, she tries to describe a week in the life of a normal person, because what happens in one week for each of us is amazing.
Despite Debut’s diverse range of influences, Björk’s honest lyrics and impassioned vocal delivery gave the album a sense of cohesion and ensured the songs were relatable to listeners. However avant-garde the sonic soundscapes, the juxtaposition of fusing them to real situations made them a direct line to her fans. I think not sticking to any particular musical style makes the album real. Life isn’t always the same.
