Originally released in 1997, The Healing Game marked an important transition for Van Morrison. After a period of crafting romantic ballads that found mainstream success, Van felt once more compelled to revisit the jazz and rhythm and blues-inspired style that influenced his earliest work. To achieve this, he assembled a killer new band that included saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis, Georgie Fame and bassist Alec Dankworth.

The final CD features Van Morrison’s Live at Montreux concert from 17 July 1997. As well as the triple-disc deluxe, the album will be reissued on vinyl LP featuring just the 10 album tracks. The Healing Game is reissued on 22 March 2019. I have no idea why it’s so expensive in the UK, but presumably that price will come down. If not, you always have Italy

Van Morrison's 1997 album The Healing Game is getting expanded to three discs, including a live show recorded at Montreux that year. You can see the track listing below. The collaborations with legendary bluesman Hooker come from Hooker's album Don't Look Back that was produced by Morrison and came out the same day as The Healing Game.
