Erasure is the seventh studio album by Erasure, released in 1995. It was produced by Thomas Fehlmann (of The Orb) and Gareth Jones. An overtly experimental and introspective album, Erasure contains eleven, mostly mid-tempo tracks that differed from their past output of shiny, three-minute pop songs. Most tracks clocked in at five minutes or more, several contained long synth interludes, and guest artists included the London Community Gospel Choir and performance artist Diamanda Galás.

After a three-and-a-half absence, Erasure returned with their ninth original album Loveboat in October 2000. Produced by Flood who worked on the first two Erasure albums, this album demonstrates an experimental element to Andy and Vince's song writing with the album possessing a largely acoustic feel. The album opens with Freedom, which with its heavy guitar strumming and catchy chorus is a largely a pleasant song, but it doesn't possess any real long-term potential. Where In The World is one of Erasure's finest ballads, a song rich in empathy and emotion.

This Erasure album (Loveboat) came out in 2000 and was for me although a reasonable album the start of me noticing erasure kind of lose their stardom slightly as after this they didn't seem to hit the charts as much & seemed to sort of disappear. I remember the "covers" album of 2005 and solsbury hill coming out but then albums came and went without me really noticing

Loveboat is the ninth full-length studio album by British synthpop group Erasure. Released in the UK by Mute Records in 2000, it was produced by Erasure and Flood. It proved to be their least successful in terms of sales and charts since their debut Wonderland in 1986. record label at the time, Maverick Records, shelved the album because of "lack of hit singles. Loveboat failed to hit the Top 40 in the UK and two singles were released, although only one was eligible to chart. Maverick Records requested the re-recording and remixing of several tracks from the album before they would agree to release it.
