Dixieland Mainstream Jazz Trad Jazz. The discovery of nine performances by cornetist Humphrey Lyttelton's earliest band in the mid-1980s resulted in this very good LP. The previously unreleased numbers, which are in surprisingly good technical shape, feature Lyttelton with three overlapping bands in 1948, mixing together 1920s standards with Lyttelton's "Victory House Drag," "Salty Dog" and an offbeat showcase for the cornetist on "Miss Otis Regrets.
