Out for Blood is the debut solo album from guitarist/vocalist Lita Ford, formerly of the band the Runaways. The original cover art for this album featured Lita standing in front of a spiderweb holding a broken blood-spurting guitar. It was later replaced with a cover of Lita standing in front of a purple background with her guitar. The album's artwork saw Ford adopting a very heavy metal-inspired image, an image she would maintain for much of the next decade.

We all know Lita Ford. She was a Runaway, yes. And she put out a few hit records in the eighties, even one that she recorded with Ozzy in years to follow. BUT, between those two phases, in 1983 Lita Ford saved up all of her pennies and put together this underated gem of an eighties metal album on her own terms. even back in the day, the biz was not so happy with Lita Fords homemade album
Lita Ford – She is best known for the role of herself in Yakety Yak, Take it Back, and Trash Talk. Lita Ford was born to an English father and an Italian mother in London, when she was about in second grade, she moved with her family to the United States, eventually settling in the Long Beach, Los Angeles area. Following the breakup of The Runaways, Ford set about launching a solo career and her debut solo album, entitled Out for Blood, was released in 1983 and was a commercial disappointment. Her next release, Dancin on the Edge achieved moderate success, Dancin on the Edge included the single Fire in My Heart, which reached the Top 10 in several countries outside the United States
