14 July 2017 ·. hi everyone, it's jack. my album is finally out today! i've been dreaming of making music like this for years now, but would have never imagined working with so many incredible musicians and singers. with De La Souland Charles Bradley, Lianne La Havas and Lalah Hathaway and everyone who performed on the album, the soul of the record just got bigger and bigger, warmer and warmer.
Bombay Bicycle Club is a British band formed in North London, United Kingdom in 2006. In January 2016, the four members announced that they would pursue solo projects. Ed Nash has since then been recording music under the name Toothless, releasing his debut album in early 2017, and former frontman Steadman has been recording under the name Mr Jukes, releasing a debut single in March 2017.
Recorded for the Channel 4 TV series "On Track with SEAT" on which bands recorded sessions of one cover song that inspires them and three original songs and the band are filmed seeing the vinyl pressed at Metropolis Studios London. Only a handful vinyl copies were pressed, no exact numbers known.
Bombay Bicycle Club aren’t Indian – they come from London – and when Jack Steadman, Suren de Saram, Ed Nash and Jamie MacColl joined forces in 2005, it was not to go cycling. The band they formed were indie darlings whose stock rose dramatically with their second album, Flaws. A subtle, folky revelation on release in 2010, it won them many new fans and the Best New Band at that year’s NME Awards. On their latest, fourth album, the chart-topping So Long, See You Tomorrow, they blend playful electronic music with Bollywood samples.
