Rick van der Linden (5 August 1946, Badhoevedorp, North Holland - 22 January 2006, Groningen) was a Dutch composer and keyboardist. Van der Linden first gained fame as a member of Ekseption, but he played in several other bands including most notably Trace, as well as solo. Van der Linden was best known for his reworkings of classical music in a pop music domain, often with jazz improvisations.
Rick van der Linden of Ekseption, whose solo album GX1 was played entirely on it. Richard Wright of Pink Floyd allegedly owned one for a brief time, but it did not make an appearance on any recordings (although it can be seen pictured in the album sleeve of "Is There Anybody Out There? (The Wall Live 1980-81)"). Richard D. James of The Tuss, Aphex Twin made a song named "GX1 solo" which was entirely composed with the Yamaha GX1.
