Fifth Dimension is the third album by the American folk rock band the Byrds and was released in July 1966 on Columbia Records (see 1966 in music). Most of the album was recorded following the February 1966 departure of the band's principal songwriter Gene Clark. In an attempt to compensate for Clark's absence, guitarists Jim McGuinn and David Crosby stepped into the breach and increased their songwriting output
Up, Up and Away is the debut album by American pop group The 5th Dimension, released in 1967 (see 1967 in music). The title track was released as a single and became a major pop hit. The group's first single release on Soul City Records, "Train Keep On Moving/I'll Be Loving You Forever" was not a success, and is not included in the album. Both songs appear as bonus tracks on a later CD reissue of the album. The first single released from this album, Go Where You Wanna Go, was initially recorded by The Mamas & the Papas and appears on their first album. The 5th Dimension's version became a Top 20 hit in the US, reaching the position. The group's second release, Another Day, Another Heartache, also charted, peaking at It was their third release, the ubiquitous.

The Fifth Dimension: Up, Up and Away (Go Where You Wanna Go)Vinyl. Up, Up And Away -- Obviously, we've got the title hit, which is how new-artist albums were usually made: a successful single, with the remainder being filler. The Magic Garden - This was the album I got this compilation for: a concept album detailing the rise/fly/crash of an ultimately disastrous relationship, all written by Jimmy Webb. In terms of commercial success, it's the least of these four albums, with no real hits (despite releasing a couple tracks as singles).
