This boxed set features 3(Diatribes, Greed Killing, Bootlegged In Japan) of the landmark grindcore act's most experimental albums collected together for the first time and housed in a deluxe slipcase. Disc: 1. 1. Greed Killing. This release contains Diatribes, The Greed Killing EP and the live album from that period, Bootlegged In Japan. At the time, Diatribes alienated and confused Napalm Death fans by going in a completely different direction by adding tones, chords and effects that the band had never used before and people were quick to abandon ship at the change in style. The passage of time has been kind to Diatribes however, the album has not dated badly at all. Barney's voice sounds terrific and the production is a lot clearer and easy to listen to than you'd expect.

Napalm Death are a British extreme metal band formed in Meriden, West Midlands, England, in 1981.

Grimmrobe A turning point in Napalm Death's career, Diatribes showcases the rare instance where experimentation in death metal truly works in the band's favor. MarinusJ Neck callisthenics from way before black yoga. I like how traditional metal riffs blend into soundscapes.

The straightforward thrasher "Greed Killing," which opens the album, proves that Napalm Death can crush most any mainstream metal band, but the kings of grindcore are still up to their old tricks. They do sink into clichéd predictability in some spots, but overall, Diatribes is a worthwhile outing. Shane Embury, Mitch Harris.

Killing Time biography KILLING TIME, a Japanese experimental jam band, gave their first cry in 1982 by three session artists - Bun ITAKURA (guitar), Kazuto SHIMIZU (keyboard, piano), and MA TO (keyboard, tabla) - previously belonging to a Japanese techno, new wave outfit Chakra. Around the three founders, the band formation had got changed flexibly and frequently for stages or events in their early years. In 1986, they released their first album 'BOB' via inviting Neko SAITOH (violin), MECKKEN (bass), and WHACHO (percussion) as formal players
