BLS present their songs in a way never heard before, with greater use of acoustic instrumentation and a stripped down approach that will leave you floored by the subtlety and intricacies of their songwriting.
Rather than revealing that Black Label Society has a softer side, Unblackened does one better and shows that the band's music has a much wider range of emotions than the casual observer might have thought possible. On top of the live performance, the two-disc set also features some studio cuts, including covers of Leon Russell's "A Song for You" and Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," which feature string accompaniments that provide an element of elegance to balance Wylde's gravely crooning.
Black Label Society, formed in the late nineties by legendary guitar hero Zakk Wylde, have established themselves at the forefront of heavy metal with a series of hard riffing and hugely successful albums alongside worldwide tours that have cemented their reputation as one of the most powerful live bands of their generation.
