Radiohead’s 'The King Of Limbs': A Track-by-Track Breakdown. Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time: Radiohead. The best Strokes song ever produced by the French nails the barfly thrill (and terror) of that moment "20 seconds 'til the last call" over a three-minute minefield of hooks. Titled after a bubbling track about deep loneliness, Jones's album feels like an ozone-charged pause before a virulent cloudburst. At 37, her voice has become more nuanced without losing an iota of cool, and her Americana excursions inform a splendid horn-driven cover of Neil Young's "Don't Be Denied. The sessions for Iggy Pop's best album in many years were helmed by Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, who created the perfect dark, rangy sound for him to flex in front of. Throughout Post Pop Depression, he's in his finest low-rent punk-poet elder statesman mode. The album gets much of its jarring nature from its plainspoken lyrics, a cold, Hemingway-esque twist that updates cold-war dance floor songs like Paul Hardcastle's "19" or Heaven 17's "We Don't Need This Fascist Groove Thang.

But this 2010 track-and most LCD songs in general-blur the lines and make your run feel like a party. Slip this opening cut from the Who's 1966 sophomore album, A Quick One, into your running mix and hopefully some of that manic force transfers to your limbs. Bounding along to Moon's splashy racket keeps those knees high, those arms pumpin. kay, yes, sometimes we air drum while jogging.

Cold Chisel THE PERFECT CRIME (Cold Chisel Music) ★★★★. Jimmy Barnes and his mates have done with their new album what they've done with every aspect of their lives as a band: work incredibly hard, not take any shortcuts and play the hell out of the songs. This is 13 tracks of unmistakeable Chisel; more up beat and diverse than 2012's No Plans, it delves further back to their rock'n'roll roots with chief songwriter Don Walker carving up the keys, guitarist Ian Moss both gritty and sublime and the Phil Small/Charlie Drayton engine room firing on every cylinder.

The quintessential Nas track and one of Hip Hop’s best songs ever, bar none. A classic narrative of life on the NYC streets, this is one of the many classics Nas’ partnership with DJ Premier would yield and just maybe the biggest of them all. 5. 2Pac - Dear Mama (1995). 2Pac was able to switch from a violent thug to an intelligent, sensitive guy like no other. Dear Mama is a heartfelt tribute to his mother and one of Pac’s most celebrated and most famous songs. 6. LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out (1990)
