Live at The Cafe Au Go Go (1966). Live at Town Hall (1967). Singles from Projections. I Can't Keep From Crying" Released: November, 1966. Projections is the second album by American blues rock band The Blues Project. Produced by Tom Wilson and released by Verve/Folkways in November 1966, the album was their first studio release and examined a more rock-based sound. Soon after the release of this album, Al Kooper left the band in the spring of 1967 to form Blood, Sweat & Tears.

This version has Verve Folkways labels and jacket with the FT catalog numbers printed on both. MGM Records, A Division Of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc., Made in .

Live at The Cafe Au Go Go is the debut album by the American band The Blues Project, recorded live during the Blues Bag four-day concert on the evenings of November 24-27, 1965 at the Cafe Au Go Go in New York City. The recording finished up in January, 1966 at the same venue, by which time Tommy Flanders had left the band. They scaled down their usual lengthy arrangements for the album due to time constraints and record label wariness. Goin' Down Louisiana" (Muddy Waters) – 4:04.

Live at The Cafe Go-Go is recoreded with Muddy Waters band (Muddy always had the best bands!) including the great Otis Spann on Piano. Muddy even plays guitar on one of the tunes. Sound quality is excellent and John Live is in fine form, but a little restrain. This contains all but two cuts of the original Live at Soledad album. These two tunes were sung by John Lee Jr. I love how at the end of the album the prison plugs the plug on the band and it takes a while for everybody to figure out what happened. For me this is some of the finest JLH caught live on tape. JLH studio album 'Never get out of these blues alive' is also another great album

Verve/Folkways and Howard Solomon, entrepreneur of the Cafe Au Go Go in New York's Greenwich Village, presented a four-day concert series called the "Blues Ba. The evenings of November 24 through the 27 at the Cafe Au Go Go proved to be one of the most exciting events during a busy weekend of folk and jazz concerts. The Blues Project group topped a long show that was filled with talented and exciting performers. They not only held their audience, but they drew cries of "more, more, more" after each encore.

Personnel: John Lee Hooker (vocals, guitar); John Lee Hooker Jr. (vocals); Muddy Waters, Sammy Lawhorn, Luther Johnson, Luther Tucker, Charlie Grimes (guitar); Otis Spann (piano); Mac Arnold, Lex Silver (bass); Francis Clay, Ken Swank (drums). Recorded live on August 30, 1966 and on June 11, 1972. Perhaps it's a tribute to the visceral nature of the blues that Hooker's live performances are usually more powerful than his studio recordings. Whatever the reason, this disc is no exception.
