The John Barry Seven take pride of place above the title on this 40-track CD, called Drumbeat after a BBC TV series that enjoyed a one-off 22-week run in the summer of 1959. To replicate the atmosphere of the TV studio, Drumbeat was recreated live at Abbey Road, by Parlophone, Barry’s record. Barry, who masterminded Drumbeat, was on a tight schedule to arrange a dozen numbers each week for its run. He later exercised a similar discipline in the film studio when he scored his first Bond film, Dr No, three years later.

A television show (often simply TV show) is any content produced for broadcast via over-the-air, satellite, cable, or internet and typically viewed on a television set, excluding breaking news, advertisements, or trailers that are typically placed between shows. Television shows are most often scheduled well ahead of time and appear on electronic guides or other TV listings. Eric Coleman, an animation executive at Disney, told an interviewer, "One misconception is that it's very difficult to get in and pitch your show, when the truth is that development. For example, the BBC's long-running soap opera EastEnders is wholly a BBC production, whereas its popular drama Life on Mars was developed by Kudos in association with the broadcaster.

This list of television shows features programs produced, written, and adapted by BBC.

It sounds strange, but it works, I promise. In the show's most modern reincarnation, Doctor Who is a woman-played by Jodie Whittaker-for the first time.
