Maladroit is the fourth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 14, 2002 by Geffen Records. Produced by the band, it was their first album to feature bassist Scott Shriner, following the departure of former bassist Mikey Welsh in 2001. Musically, the album features heavy metal riffs uncommon to Weezer's previous releases.

Maladroit has some good tunes, but one song off Pinkerton could beat this album down. Where did it all go wrong for Weezer". Go back to 1994, the year of the Blue Album. The members of Weezer, Rivers Cuomo, Brian Bell, Matt Sharp and Pat Wilson, were swimming in success. Undone - The Sweater Song was climbing up the charts. It's fun and innocent lyrics overtop of undeniable catchiness was contagious. People scooped up the Blue Album, and within months went platinum. Following Buddy Holly and Say It Ain't So, Rivers went back to Harvard for studies.
Bands used to make records like this all the time. They'd release an album, tour all year, write a bunch of songs, record 'em, release another album a year later. Since hardly anybody - not even indie bands - did that in 2002, it's a remarkable event when Weezer does exactly that, especially following a half a decade of inactivity. But, it's hard not to think that this is the way it should be done by all bands, since Maladroit retains the high quality of The Green Album.
Maladroit is the fourth studio album by the American alternative rock band Weezer, released on May 14, 2002 on Geffen Records. This is the first Weezer album to feature bassist Scott Shriner, who joined the band in 2001 after the breakdown and departure of Mikey Welsh. During the latter half of 2001, Rivers Cuomo began to write many new songs, and their overall style reflected a harder rock. At the time, he was reading lots of Nietzsche.
Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample). Under rated Weezer album. Doesn't feel like they were trying toake radio, and it has the Weezer authenticity. Not a 5, but it's good.
