Tunnel-Funnel presents two works by New York composer Daniel Goode. Performed by the Crosstown Ensemble, the title track is something of a modern pastoral, and very pleasant. With its friendly dissonance, it's less crisp than what "20th century composition" normally refers to. The second composition, "Fiddle Studies," was inspired by Goode's work with traditional Scotch-Canadian fiddlers in Nova Scotia, and is light, lovely, and hypnotic. It's too bad there aren't more compositions on this release, as it is a really enjoyable listen.
