Liars - Mess album flac

The album's message is one of anxiety - a people who have a quickly disappearing chance at making a change that will save them. But eventually, the burning string will run out and the bomb will go off, leaving us all with nothing at all. Rather than give us the lead up and then end with a choice, Liars choose for us: we picked wrong, and the second half is the outcome. The shift of energy and shape of the record is, in that, a very Hitchcock-style effort. Liars have done it again with Mess. The record is out this week on Mute. You guys are brilliant innovators, among the most conceptually interesting lyricists, masters of the album format, and your music is just downright fucking cool. I think I speak for everyone when I request that you keep doing it for as long as you can. Your collective lives, as human beings, are justified in your labors alone, which produces such feverishly brilliant art it drives me up a fucking wall.

As the trio continue to remould and refine their craft, Mess, an album fuelled by impulse, demonstrates their ideological core hasn’t moved an inch.
