A Sign of the Times is an album by American jazz guitarist Joe Pass that was released in 1965 by World Pacific Records. It includes orchestrated versions of pop hits. The title track was a hit for Petula Clark. The album was reissued on CD with Simplicity in 2002 by Euphoria. A Sign of the Times" (Tony Hatch). Sensa Fine" (Gino Paoli, Wilder). Nowhere Man" (John Lennon, Paul McCartney).

Sign o' the Times" is the lead single from American musician Prince's 1987 album of the same name. Despite being negative in nature, the song was originally intended for two separate Prince albums meant to be released in 1986, that were both shelved: Dream Factory and Crystal Ball. Many of the tracks from both of these albums ended up on the album Sign o' the Times.

Harry Styles' first single, "Sign of the Times," dropped on Friday (Apr. 7) and it's a mind-bender that rakes in influences from Pink Floyd and David Bowie to Spacehog, Coldplay and the Beatles. The title, of course, with it's refrain "it's a sign of the times," could be read as an allusion to Prince's album of the same name, which was released 30 years to the day (Mar. 31) that the former 1D member announced the tune. Styles breaks into a falsetto on the second verse - or chorus, if you want to consider it as such - bringing to mind the plaintive stylings of Suede's Brett Anderson, not to mention Spacehog's Antony and Royston Langdon on their classic '90s alt-rock smash "In the Meantime

Deeper into the album/cd tracks prove Bob can really utilize dynamics to get a mood across to the listener. He dips into latin, funk, a little disco, classical and of course jazz waters with stride. Definitely there are some 80s dance influences here, but it hasn't entirely lost the 70s groove, either. The real jam here is Sign of the Times, the intro to which I think was sampled for the intro of Regulate by Nate Dogg and Warren G. The rest of the album is pretty solid as well. I would give this record 4-. /5, definitely worth the fairly low price I tend to see it selling for in my area. Reply Notify me 2 Helpful.
