Tangram is the thirteenth album by the electronic music group Tangerine Dream. It became their fifth biggest selling album, reaching in the British Top 40, and spending 5 weeks on the chart. At a turning point between two eras, Tangram contains fond glimpses back at the "classic long-form sequencer" period and also contains foreshadows of the "new age melodic short track" period to come. It introduced new member Johannes Schmoelling, re-establishing the band as a keyboard trio.

Tangerine Dream ‎– Tangram 2008. Released: 20 Jun 2008. Still further proof that poor Edgar has no idea what made 70s and early 80s Tangerine Dream so good. Just taking the original and dubbing some synthy trashy techno-pop beats over it? Really?

Tangram is regarded to be one of the most dramatic albums ever released by the group. The sound quality of this release, using the Super Bit Mapping technology, is probably the best up to now. Категория. Tangram Set 1. Исполнитель.

The electronic music group Tangerine Dream has released more than one hundred albums, singles, EPs and compilations since the group was formed in 1967. Tangerine Dream's releases have been divided into several eras based on the record label of the time. Tangerine Dream's first releases were on the Ohr label.

Enter Tangerine Dream and Tangram 2008. Tangram was the last album - released in 1980 - that really showcased Edgar Froese and Christopher Franke in their true form - Peter Baumann had left after 1976's brilliant Stratosfear - though it was a new direction. The idea behind this was, of course, Froese's and the result is mixed at best. While it follows the original Tangram's sequence, there is a distraction right from the jump: an insistent, single-pulse rhythm track that does not come from one of their trademark sequencers, but from a pre-programmed drum machine.

Still further proof that poor Edgar has no idea what made 70s and early 80s Tangerine Dream so good. Just taking the original and dubbing some synthy trashy techno-pop beats over it? Really? The flow of the original has been almost utterly ignored in favor of monotonous, uninspired percussive wallpaper. I will give them credit for the beat offset on track 3 though, as I would probably have never heard the main melody like that otherwise. Overall though, just terrible; as terrible as you probably think it is. I am done with checking out contemporary releases--hoping that the magic has been recaptured--only to be disappointed yet again.I am so sad that you lost your way, Edgar, and I hope you find it again; but if you do, I will have to find out by word of mouth.
