Maladroit is the fourth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 14, 2002 by Geffen Records. Produced by the band, it was their first album to feature bassist Scott Shriner, following the departure of former bassist Mikey Welsh in 2001. Musically, the album features heavy metal riffs uncommon to Weezer's previous releases.

Seaberg says: Maladroit is a purple-yellow title I notice first that I want to dance and I believe dance is a form of involuntary movement sometimes and can be synesthetic. I want to raise both arms up to shoulder height, bring them down, and repeat. One guess is that the White Album represents a rebirth, a return to conceptual intent after the unkempt randomness of Raditude and Hurley, and even Everything Will Be Alright in the End looked backward for inspiration. White is the band’s surfiest, sandiest album since Blue, but the light on these cloudless, uncomplicated musings is clearly ahead of them, and they’re moving toward it.

The best HKV release so far in my opinion. Australian producers Epsilon & Maladroit, both known for there crushing beats and quirky sampling, deliver nothing short of a masterpiece. Anyone familiar with earlier Epsilon material knows that typical oldskool videogame tone he uses to write a lot of his melodies with, and here is further proof that he does it better than most with the track magdalene. The other three tracks from Epsilon are more his 'spastic hyperspeed breakcore' style, which i also welcome with open ears. The track which really caught me by surprise is Maladroit's Amen Motherfucker, again the old game sound, but with the recognizable maladroit touch, and layered over the very chopped but still very punchy amen break. The melody really is awesome, one of those that really sticks in the brain long after listening. The track also features familiar voice samples which tell the story of probably the most sampled piece of music in history, the Amen Break. Although for me, Magdalene, and Amen Motherfucker are the best tracks on this record, the whole ep is excellent, but i would be here all day if i were to comment on each track. One can only look forwrd to what Akira will bring us next on this great label
